I was born on the water: the elements are in my blood, the sky and sea my inspiration. The notion of Immersion underpins my practice. I frequently work outdoors, immersing myself in the landscape and finding comfort and meaning through the exploration of its wild, unspoilt terrain. My paintings focus on light and movement; capturing the ever changing elemental atmospherics of the landscape. Going beyond a depiction of place, my paintings capture a uniquely personal perspective: a way of seeing cultivated by an emotive and instinctually primal connection to the land, sea, sky.
