I've always been drawn to the immediacy of watercolour – the way a single brushstroke can define a particular element of the landscape. For this new body of work, I found real joy in exploring the unpredictable nature of the medium, experimenting with soak and stain, drybrushing and allowing the paint to guide the process – carving out the landscape.
